Bipolar Disorder. The Right Diagnosis?
Description
Once known as manic depression, bipolar disorder is a psychiatric condition that can look a lot like depression even to a trained psychiatrist, and is often mistreated as such. In this video clip, meet Craig Hamilton, who endured extreme highs and lows for ten years. It was the lows he was being treated for, when one day things got so bad Craig erupted and his colossal outburst allowed doctors to witness his true condition. Now, two Australian scientists believe their observations of the difference in the way the brains of people with and without bipolar disorder respond to specific stimuli have set them well on the way to developing the first physical diagnostic test for the disorder.
