Bowel and Bladder Retraining
Description
With a strong emphasis on client dignity and quality of life, this program provides information on normal bladder and bowel function, physiological changes in the abdomen that occur with aging, common types of bladder and bowel incontinence, practical techniques to help control involuntary urination and defecation, and the nursing assistant's role in the assessment of incontinence and the retraining of elderly people to manage it. Designated for 2 contact hours of continuing nursing education.
