El Espanol
Description
Its sounds and rhythms vary across the world, but it is nevertheless a global tongue-Spanish, the language of 400 million people, second only to English in usage. Spending time on both sides of the Atlantic, this program offers guidance in the fine art of introducing and describing one's self in Spanish, along with an overview of the many nations in which Spanish is spoken. Viewers learn about the personal goals and ambitions of Spanish speakers in Salamanca, Spain (the director of a summer school famous for teaching the language); in Mexico City (a professional chef); and in New York City (a community leader of Puerto Rican ancestry).
