Waste of Candy. A "What If?" Scenario on Social Responsibility
Description
You see an apparently intoxicated couple with a young girl getting into a car - a fatal accident, perhaps, in the making. Should you mind your own business or get involved? There's no easy answer to that kind of question, and Waste of Candy doesn't try to offer one. Instead, this true-to-life dramatization captures the uncertainties as it lets the situation play out in real time, ending in two of several possible outcomes - one of which hints at multiple arrests (including the good Samaritan) and the other of which implies multiple deaths in a car wreck. Disturbingly believable, the alcohol-related scenario and the thought-provoking question it raises - where does social responsibility begin and end? - can be applied, by extension, to any situation involving the question of intervention.
