Description
In the debut episode of season 2, presenter Melissa Hyak travels to Shanghai, China, to soak in the atmosphere of everything “huayu”! She meets a fellow presenter from the local news station and is issued the challenge of reading a piece of news in Mandarin. Together, they meet a young internet user who teaches them a thing or two about the evolving internet language in China, before proceeding to a restaurant to figure out the flowery, lyrical names of their dishes. Melissa also meets an up-and-coming multimedia artist who puts a spin on traditional Chinese art forms, and they visit a modern art gallery to uncover traditional propaganda posters.
