Life. Charles Dickens' London

Description

This video follows Dickens through a wide range of city locations, visiting the sites of the debtor's prison where his father was held, and to the blacking factory where Charles, a newly impoverished child, worked with the poorest of the poor. It takes in the House of Parliament where he served his time as reporter and honed his skills as a writer, and his home near King's Cross Station. It also includes a visit to Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey, where he lies buried—an honor reserved for the very greatest achievers in English literature.
