Nunavut elders. Looking forward
Description
Featured Community: Iqaluit. When Akeeshoo Joamie was a boy the city of Iqaluit didn't exist. The site was his family's summer fishing camp. Akeeshoo now lives in the big and booming capital city. His eyesight is failing and he can no longer travel on the land. The split between generations is very apparent in the Joamie family - an example of the culture and language barrier between young and old that now exists in Nunavut.
