Read Me
Description
Reading traditionally played an important role in German self-identity. But in 2000 an international survey revealed that German pupils now lack basic reading skills, giving rise to nation-wide shock. Taking this national identity crisis as a starting point, this film aims to examine the act of reading from an anthropological perspective through personal portraits of 3 characters and their relationship to reading, observed, as it were, through a pair of reading glasses.
