Still looking

Description

This film documents the recent work of Janet Adler, the noted movement therapist whose earlier work was profiled 20 years ago in the classic film, 'Looking for Me.' Here she works with eight women through a practice called Authentic Movement. Authentic Movement is concerned with the relationship between moving and witnessing; it assumes complete trust in the body's capacity to remember and to tell the truth. As the film progresses, the eight women engage in a deepening process of self-directed movement in the presence of a witness; then they learn to be witnesses themselves. Moving and witnessing take the women toward an integration of body and spirit, toward wholeness. 'Still Looking' is essential viewing dance therapy and movement classes and will stimulate discussion in a wide variety of courses in psychology, therapy, dance, spirituality, and women's studies. It was produced by Janet Adler.
