Illness in the family. Children confronting uncertainty

Description

When a serious illness strikes a family, it's natural for most of the attention to go to the sick one. The problem is that kids who aren't sick sometimes get lost in the shuffle. This can be hurtful in scary and confusing ways. This story, along with candid, open-ended interviews with kids ages 4-16, was created to help you understand what it's like for children confronting the uncertainty of serious illness and what you can do to help. They share with us their shock, their confusion and the ambiguity of their experience. And although this is into a journey any of these children chose, along the way they develop insights that can be of great value to parents, teachers and other kids who find themselves in similar situations. "Illness in the Family" presents a unique perspective of family illness from the often-silent spectators, the children themselves.
