London taxi driver brains
Description
London Taxi Driver Brains: London taxi drivers are the athletes of memory. To navigate central London, they must create a mental map of the thousands of streets, landmarks, and locations. University of London scientists have been studying the brains of these taxi drivers in order to learn more about memory. They are trying to see how the human brain can be trained to and re-fashioned for stronger memory abilities. They hope to use their findings to help stroke victims, Alzheimer's patients, and those suffering brain traumas.
