Preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infections
Description
UTIs are the #1 cause of hospital-acquired infections, and CMS will no longer reimburse for the treatment of preventable UTIs. This award wining program educates nurses and nursing assistants on the indications for catheter use, potential causes of infection, risk factors for acquisition of CA-UTIs, and evidence-based interventions, including care and maintenance of the catheter, and aseptic technique during collection and sampling.
