In this issue of Videofashion, a melange of materials strike an artistic chord with designers for Autumn/Winter 2011. Fendi's art student-themed collection paints a collage with tweeds and knits accompanied by 'injected' furs. Next, we head to a New York Fendi flagship store to see the architect duo Aranda/Lasch's unique design collaboration with the venerable house. Dries Van Noten melds patterns drawn from the style of David Bowie with the costumes of Diaghilev's Ballet Russes. Gabriele Colangelo finds inspiration in the work of artist Alberto Burri, and incorporates a playful mix of textures for his collection. Alexander Wang goes 'hybrid' for fall, poling fun at luxury by mixing rich materials with his signature downtown finesse. Plus, Donatella Versace looks to the heritage of the house, incorporating sexy snake-like motifs combined with military details.
