Exploring the world. Nevada. US

Description

We begin our tour reminiscing about the popular TV series, Bonanza. The legend of the Ponderosa lives on in this classic visit to the set of the show, which was filmed almost entirely near Lake Tahoe. After its 14 year run, the set was converted into a Wild West Park where visitors could enjoy hilarious re-enactments of robberies and shoot outs, learn how to snap a bullwhip, or see a blacksmith shape metal. Next we travel on the MS Dixie, Lake Tahoe's largest paddle wheeler, as we navigate Emerald Bay and marvel at the clear water and scenic views. Our last stop is Squaw Valley, home to the 1960 Winter Olympics and now a luxury resort area. There are activities available all year, from mountain biking, horseback riding, and golf to ice-skating and over 4,000 acres for skiing. A highlight of our visit is the Olympic Heritage Museum to learn more about the games and the athletes who participated.
