How to help the environment
Description
The Environmental Protection Agency, the Environmental Defense Fund, Earth First!, the Audobon Society, the Nature Conservancy - these are just a few of the excellent organizations that help raise awareness about protecting our natural environment. But as the world's population increases and our natural resources become more and more strained, the need for even more active participation increases as well. One of the best ways to get people of all ages involved in helping the environment in all our local communities is to have hands-on projects taught in our schools, which is the subject of this excellent how-to program. Here we view the planning of ecologically sound landscaping projects, such as tree and flowerbed plantings, and the development of a nature trail for a high school property. We see important planting techniques, discover projects that everyone can do, and we are introduced to a Conservation Ecology Club.
