Age wave
Description
A new age is dawning for the western world: old age. We are living longer and producing fewer children, leading to a profound social change. For the first time in history, the old will outnumber the young. Within a few years, the impact will hit hard. There will too few workers, too many retired people and an unbearable strain on pensions and health services. As John Penycate reports, the remedies to stave off catastrophe are startling.
