Reaching silence
Description
Nisshabd is a contemplative film about Sarit (Kaushik Chakravarty), a young man whose job as a door-to-door salesman suffers as a result of his mounting sensitivity to sound. When visits to doctors and gurus fail to alleviate his problem, Sarit decides to escape the urban clamor of Bombay city and journeys to the sleepy village in which his childhood friend lives. In the village he is introduced to a young, vivacious woman who tries to understand his quirky nature. However, the relationship is thwarted by Sarit's continued obsession with attaining silence.
