Everyman. Virgin and the abbey
Description
The simple plaintive melodies that inspired the 6th century Pope, St Gregory the Great, have remained part of the mystery of monastic live for nearly 2,000 years. But in the 1990s the music of the monks has moved out of the monastery and into the mainstream. Gregorian chants sell and money can be made. So, after morning mass at the Abbey in Somerset, Father Sutch is setting off for a business meeting with Richard Branson's Virgin Records. Everyman is present as the two cultures collide.
