Exercise, why does it work?
Description
Exercise, Why Does It Work? reviews the fact that physical exercise offers protection against a cluster of diseases to the extent that exercise can be described as medicine for these diseases--not just protection. The DVD details the action mechanisms of how exercise works in this regard and discusses how exercise affects so many diseases. The DVD examines the hypothesis that physical inactivity leads to the accumulation of abdominal fat, which in turn spurs the chronic inflammation and then chronic disease. The DVD also addresses the potential global implications of ""exercise as medicine,"" offering the efforts of Denmark as an example of a successful approach, where the gap between knowledge and practice in this area has been narrowed.
