Kinesthetic fine motor activities

Description

Kinesthetic or body sensibility of position, movement and weight naturally develop in normal children. This sense can be enhanced in all children & is significant for children with visual spatial delays or deficits. Kinesthetic training is usually preferable to visual motor intervention, because awareness that a movement is correct will reduce the need for visual monitoring of the body part while enhancing confidence and speed. This video demonstrates activities appropriate for desk top, blackboard and in the gymnasium. These activities are important as pre-writing preparation in conjunction with developmental hand activities.
