CPD for teachers. Working together. 1
Description
Successful strategies to learn from each other. At Beech Hill primary school new teachers get a choice of mentors and decide which is most appropriate to approach for advice. The staff practice team teaching and by combining a number of ways of working together they have succeeded in creating a positive attitude towards in-house professional development. A second case-study features a cross-school partnership where two ASTs have joined forces with the aim of improving boys' writing skills. Teachers Alison and Jane explain how the collaboration came about as well as the benefits and challenges of such an approach.
