Zambezi
Description
This is an adventure film along the longest and most dangerous river in southern Africa. It's also about a mission to save lives. The Zambezi is known as the river of life. But it brings huge dangers as well. The river and its banks provide the perfect breeding ground for millions and millions of mosquitoes -- and they carry one of the deadliest diseases on the continent. Few villages on the Zambezi are accessible by road, and yet even where it is easily navigable the river remains bereft of transport. One of the most famous rivers in the world is characterised by isolation and underdevelopment. In March this year, an expedition arrived at the source of the Zambezi to draw attention to the continuing menace of malaria. The aim was to travel the entire length of the river, to the Indian Ocean.
