The great challenge

Description

One is blind, the other has cancer. It's still their dream to ride a tandem bike 540 km across Norway. Join Vidar and Tahir's incredible journey. "It's not a problem to be blind if you have someone who can be your eyes." Tahir is a young man who has been blind since age 15. A rare disease made him lose his sight and become a very overweight teenager. As a result, Tahir locked himself inside his room, and his family could not help him out of depression. But one day the retired policeman, Vidar, appeared in Tahir's life. The helpful neighbour offered to take Tahir out on a tandem bike. Since that day, they have not looked back. And now they want to complete one of the world's toughest bike race, "Den store styrkeprøven" (The great challenge). The race runs from Trondheim to Oslo, 540 km across one of Norway's major mountains. An almost impossible task for most people, but it's Tahirs's boyhood dream and Vidar has promised to make it come true, even when he is diagnosed with cancer a year before the race. Vidar and Tahir refuse to give up and are determined to finish the race at all costs. But how can a bike race possibly mean so much to them? "The great challenge" is a feel-good movie about important issues in life.
