Description
Reviews evidence unearthed from around the world investigating how enormous prehistoric volcanic eruptions led to the greatest global catastrophe of all time, killing 95 percent of all species and leaving life itself on the brink of annihilation. Looks at the Siberian Traps in Northern Russia, where the coal deposits are evidence of ancient swamps and the basalt towers that now cover much of Siberia, this rock forms from magma from underground, and these are evidence of a massive eruption. Reviews the evidence of poisonous gases released during the eruption killing plants and animals.
