"A Year 8 class build model gliders as part of a cross-curricular class exploring the science and engineering behind flight. STEM activities are a very good way to illustrate scientific concepts and also look at the real possibilities of science and engineering careers but often only take place in voluntary after-school clubs. Teaching and leadership staff at Ash Mount School in Surrey wanted every pupil to benefit so they looked for a way to find time in the school timetable. The video shows the impact a well thought out STEM activity can have in bringing to life the future possibilities available to all pupils.
