Music's energy footprint
Description
In 2007 a group of influential people from the music industry formed Julie's Bicycle, an organisation dedicated to reducing the industry's greenhouse gas emissions. They brought Catherine on board, who identified three main areas of emissions; live music venues, audience travel, and CD manufacturing. Catherine visits the Indigo at the O2 in London. The venue's operations manager shows her his energy-saving measures. Julie's Bicycle discuss the problems of trying to reduce audience travel emissions, how the carbon footprint of CDs can be reduced by 95% and how renewable energy sources may be the only way to ensure a low carbon future. There are curriculum materials fully integrated with the programme, plus additional CPD materials and bonus web clips.
