Why bother with health?

Description

Why Bother with Health? looks at the issues surrounding children's health as raised by the government's recent white paper and shows why schools should address these issues now. The programme explores the key points all schools need to address: physical activity, diet, sex, drugs, and emotional health and well-being. A variety of experts and forward-thinking schools across the country offer practical advice to implement these changes across the whole curriculum, whilst highlighting potential problems the next generation of adults face if changes aren't made. The documentary is followed by a studio debate which examines the issues raised in greater detail and features Colin Noble from the National Healthy Schools Standard, Amanda Dennison, headteacher at the Millennium Primary School in Greenwich, and Cassandra Jardine, author and Daily Telegraph journalist.
