The teacher-TA relationship is one of the most important in the classroom, so when things go wrong, the fallout can be significant and a diplomatic approach to resolution essential. This programme tackles some common teacher-TA issues and offers strategies to overcome common dilemmas. As teachers are responsible for managing their TAs, here TA line-manager and deputy headteacher Kate Atkins leads a problem-solving discussion with a group of class teachers from Rosendale Primary School. They consider how they would deal with certain tricky scenarios to ensure the teamwork improves and the relationship gets back on track. The group offer practical solutions for conflict resolution, explore how best to establish effective practice, and discuss realistic expectations.
