Stories from current SSS students!

How has SSS helped me:
It helped me make a great group of friends. It also helped me become more comfortable with the campus and the resources that are given available to me.

My career goals:
One day I hope to be working in a kindergarten classroom or a classroom with special ed children.

Advice for first year students:
"My advice for first year students is to make sure that you get involved on campus and go to campus events because that is how you meet people who have the same interests as you. Also don't be afraid to go to you advisor and ask for help that is what they are there for..."

How has being in SSS been helpful to you in college?
SSS has been helpful to me in college by guiding me in the right direction and providing me with resources I didn't know I had. It has also been helpful by teaching me leadership and time management skills.

What are your career goals and/or dream job?

My career goal is to be an advocate to children who don't have their own voice.  My dream job would be to open my own non-profit organization to help homeless children.

Any advice for first-year students?

My advice for first-year students would be to get involved and try new things because you never know if you might really like something if you've never tried it.

Our students are living proof that SSS and TRiO really do work! Watch the video below to hear how SSS has helped.
