Cornelia Gordon-Hempe

Dr. Gordon-Hempe has many years of experience as a Social Worker and a Social Work educator.

Cornelia Bio Picture She earned her MSW and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Prior to joining the staff at UW-Oshkosh, she was a Clinical Social Worker. She was also an Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Counseling at Beloit College, and was Community Resources Coordinator for the city of Beloit. While there, she oversaw the Division of Health and Social Services in two at-risk neighborhoods, as well as managed a community center.  After moving to Madison, she earned her doctorate in Social Welfare and taught in the Department of Social Work at UW-Whitewater.  She joined UW-Oshkosh in the fall of 2011.  She has been active in NASW-WI, having served on the board as a branch representative, treasurer, and later as president.  Most recently, she represents Wisconsin and Michigan on the NASW Board of Directors.
