Thomas Ebert, MSSW (University of Wisconsin-Madison) and Ph.D. in Urban Social Institutions (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), Council on Social Work Education, Social Welfare History Group of CSWE, Wisconsin Council on Social Work Education, Midwest Sociological Society, CISW (Certified Independent Social Worker-Wisconsin).
Dr. Ebert has been with the Department since 1984. He holds the position of Associate Professor and previously served four years as Chair and three years as Field Coordinator. He has taught courses across the curriculum. His special teaching interests are applied generalist practice, social welfare institutions, social welfare policy, and research. His most recent research pertains to the institutionalization and deinstitutionalization of the mentally ill and the community mental health movement. He also conducted a three year longitudinal study of family outcomes for ADVOCAP, Head Start Family Service Center. He has served as research consultant to social service agencies in Outagamie and Waushara Counties, the Oshkosh Foundation, and Salvation Army's Project Home. He also serves as a board member of RCDD and Project Home.
