Karen Aspenson
Information about Karen Aspenson.
Karen J. Aspenson is a native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Having trekked all over the US and Germany as an Army spouse, she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Troy State University in Dothan, Alabama. Karen has experience working in the fields of juvenile residential services, vocational support services, and adult residential services. She is currently the Executive Director of NAMI Fox Valley, a position in which she coordinates programs and services for individuals, and families living with chronic and persistent mental illness. Karen and her husband, Jeff, also served as treatment foster care providers for teenage males for six years. Karen is a strong advocate for the rights of individuals living with mental illness and breaking the stigma to such is one of her life's goals.
