Carolyn Wells

Carolyn Wells, BA,
Anthropology, Univ. of California, Berkeley; MSSW and Ph.D, Child Devel.
and Family Relationships, UW Madison. She is a licensed clinical social
worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the
Academy of Certified Social Workers, the Wisconsin Council on Social
Work Education, and a CSWE-certified site visitor for accreditation.
Dr. Wells joined the faculty in
Fall, 1999, having previously developed the Social Work Program at Marquette
University and served as its Program Director for many years. She has
recently been awarded the Edward H. Rudoy Endowed Professorship at UWO.
She is the author and co-author of several social work texts, including
the popular titles, Social Work Day to Day, the Experience of Generalist
Social Work Practice and The Social Work Experience, an Introduction
to Social Work and Social Welfare. Her special interests include
generalist social work practice, family counseling and therapy, social
justice issues, social policy impact on populations at risk, and social
work with older adults. She serves as a professional volunteer in a
nursing home and a hospice in West Bend, playing live harp music at
bedside for patients in palliative care.
