Marie Nesemann
BA University of Michigan, MSW University of Illinoic, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), member NASW and ACSW, currently working on her substance abuse specialty certification.
Marie is Social Services Director at the Wisconsin Resource Center in Oshkosh. In addition to teaching a class in Psychopathology for the Collaborative MSW program, she provides outpatient group therapy to sex offenders residing in the Fox Valley region. Marie's career interests have spanned over 25 years in social work practice areas of child welfare, victim services, mental health and substance use disorders.
Before taking on her current position, she was Executive Director of Reach Counseling Services, a specialty mental health clinic providing advocacy, crisis response and long term therapy to persons affected by sexual violence. Marie is currently interested in gender responsive and trauma informed treatment strategies and recovery based pratices with persons experiencing mental illness and/or substance use disorders. A long time advocate for social justice, Marie supports efforts to empower individuals marginalized by gender, class, race, differing abilities, ethnicity, age and/or sexual orientation.
