Work Faculty:
Dorothea Epple, BA in Social Welfare (Aurora College), MSW (Loyola University), Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work (Institute for Clinical Social Work, Chicago), ACSW (Academy of Certified Social Work), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker WI and IL), BCD (Board Certified Diplomate). Dr. Epple joined the faculty in August 2002 as an Assistant Professor. Previously she was the Manager of the Outpatient Counseling and Addictions Program at Catholic Charities in Lombard, Illinois. Dr. Epple has practiced clinical social work for 25 years in mental health, psychiatric hospitals and hospice care. Her special interests are integration of journal writing and narrative theory, journal writing and its impact on long-term illness, and spirituality and social work. Dr. Epple is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a member of the Society of Spirituality and Social Work. Dr.
Epple has taught Interpersonal Skills, Social Welfare Institutions,
Introduction to Social Work and Generalist Practice Interview Lab at
the Bachelor level. In the collaborative MSW program, she teaches Psychopathology
from a Strengths Based Perspective, Mental Health Theories and Advanced
Field Practicum with Integrative Seminars III and IV. Contact
