The Epsilon Kappa Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma at UW Oshkosh has been very busy this month! We sponsored the ALS walk in Appleton to defeat ALS. This held a very special meaning to one of our alumnae members whose father was diagnosed with ALS. We not only helped in setting up and registration, but we also participated in the walk. It was a cold, rainy day but it was well worth every second.
We participated in Take Back The Night which is a walk held for victims of sexual assault and abuse. We were able to hear the stories of many victims and we walked for them and all of those who have been a part of this abuse. For one of our football games at Oshkosh we had a bake sale and nearly sold out of all of our goodies. All the donation and profits went to our philanthropy, the Robbie Page Memorial. We even got to watch the game afterward. A very busy event of this month was our recruitment. Some of our events included game nights, a bake night, watching the football game, and many other activities to help us get to know all of our new members. It was a lot of fun and we got to meet many lovely new ladies. It was a big success and we hope to continue to add to the Greek community as much as we can.

I joined Sigma because I came to Oshkosh at the age of 17 and I was lost without my family and friends. The Sigma ladies took me under their wing and since then I have grown tremendously. I've had the best times with unforgettable memories, and we have even made it through the harder times. I am proud to be a Sigma and I love all of my sisters.
I love Sigma because it’s a place where I can go and be myself. Sigma really is my second home.
I joined Sigma to be more involved on campus and the community and to be a part of a great sisterhood!
I joined Sigma as a way to gain leadership skills and to make everlasting friendships, not only in Sigma but also in the entire Greek system. Without the opportunities and leadership experiences I have had, I would not be as successful and involved on campus. I am proud of the fact that I am in an organization that gives me a chance to expand my horizons and push myself to be the best woman I can be.
Here's some cool stuff about Tri-Sigma...
On campus, we are the sorority with the lowest turnover rate. This means that we have the highest amount of members who don't drop out before initiation. This seems to happen a lot with other Greek organizations but rarely happens with us. Sigma Sigma Sigma also boasts the largest sorority house on campus. We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary at UWO.
Nationally, Sigma Sigma Sigma is known for having one of the best sorority education programs. Our two most famous alumni are Carrie Underwood (a few of our members met her at our national convention last summer) and Linda Denham, the creator of the Care Bears. Our philanthropy (a cause we support) is the Robbie Page Memorial, which benefits play therapy for children in hospitals. There are over 100 different Sigma Sigma Sigma chapters in the United States.

Joining Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority might be for you if things on your list included:
*Becoming a leader
*Gaining a really awesome group of friends
*Serving your community
*Being more in touch with your campus events
Most of the girls in Tri-Sigma never saw themselves joining a sorority, but something changed our minds. If you're intrigued, we think that you should give us a shot.
Tri-Sigmas don't really fit the typical sorority-girl stereotype. Our members have very diverse personalities but we still all get along great. All in all, though, we're a group of fun, intelligent, classy, down-to-earth women who constantly strive to better ourselves.
