Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination


Title VII -- 1964 Civil Rights Act
 Federal legislation prohibiting sex discrimination in employment.

"It shall be unlawful employment practice for an employer to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin."

Title IX -- Education Amendments of 1972
 Federal legislation prohibiting sex discrimination in education.

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Wisconsin Fair Employment Act
State statue prohibits discrimination on the basis of age, handicap, national origin, race, record of arrest or conviction which is not job related, religion, sex, sexual preference, and marital status.
