Science Safari - Nov. 15th

The Science Safari and Science Expedition for grades 3-6 will be held from 9-12 on Sat., Nov. 15, 2014. Children will pick 3 sessions to attend and rotate throughout the morning for a hands-on, action-packed science experience. This event will be held on campus in the Halsey Science Building. Students will meet in the main lobby area in front of room 106.

  • DEADLINE: Friday, Nov. 7th , 2014
  • Registration fees are non-refundable after Fri, Oct 31, 2014
  • Confirmations will be sent via email unless unavailable, and then will be sent via U.S. postal service.


This event will be held on campus in the Halsey Science building. Students will register in the main lobby area in front of room 106 from 8:30 - 9:00 am.

If you are unfamiliar with campus, it is easiest to access Halsey from Elmwood Ave.

If you are coming from out of town, take Hwy 41 towards Oshkosh and get off on the Jackson St. exit. Follow Jackson St. towards Oshkosh to Scott St. and turn right. This will take you directly to the main entrance on Elmwood.

Crazy Chemistry

Create some bubbling explosions, and watch us make even bigger bangs with a brief chemistry demonstration.

Stomp Rockets 

Design, build, and launch paper rockets! 

It's Tricky

Learn some magic tricks that are based on principles of science.


Take a ride on our hovercraft, and make a smaller version to take home


Race through the UWO campus as we search for hidden treasures with our GPS units.


Learn how messages are transmitted in the brain, and make a brain model to take home


Watch out! Things will be flying when we talk about trajectories and build a slingshot.

Egg Drop

Build a contraption that will safely land an egg from a 4 story drop.


Play with our Mindstorms robot kits, and learn basic robot programming.

Rocking Out

Learn about the rock cycle, and break a geode with crystals inside that you can take home.
