Science Safari - Nov. 14th

The Science Safari and Science Expedition for grades 3-6 will be held from 9-12 on Sat., Nov. 14, 2015. Children will pick 3 sessions to attend and rotate throughout the morning for a hands-on, action-packed science experience. This event will be held on campus in the Halsey Science Building. Students will meet in the main lobby area in front of room 106.

  • Registration fees are non-refundable after Fri, Oct 30, 2015
  • Confirmations will be sent via email unless unavailable, and then will be sent via U.S. postal service.


This event will be held on campus in the Halsey Science building. Students will register in the main lobby area in front of room 106 from 8:30 - 9:00 am.

If you are unfamiliar with campus, it is easiest to access Halsey from Elmwood Ave.

If you are coming from out of town, take Hwy 41 towards Oshkosh and get off on the Jackson St. exit. Follow Jackson St. towards Oshkosh to Scott St. and turn right. This will take you directly to the main entrance on Elmwood.

Prepare for attack! Build a mini-catapult launcher to bring home so you can protect your treasures from invaders.

Fantastic Physics

 Learn how to throw an egg without cracking it and how to get a ball to shoot sky high as you explore Newton's laws

Film Canister Rockets

3..2..1.. Blast off! Make a mini rocket to take home that launches itself


Take a ride on our hovercraft, and make a smaller version to take home

Food Chemistry

What are sugars, starches, and fats? Let’s do some chemical tests and find out!

It's Electric

Explore the properties of electricity with our generator. It will make your hair stand on end!

Know the Code

Join us as we explore computer coding using Scratch software.

Making Lotion

Learn some chemistry while you make some lotion and relaxing bath salts to take home

Milk, It Does a Scientist Good

Do experiments to learn about the fascinating properties of milk, and then make some ice cream to enjoy


Perform a little polymer chemistry and bring home some putty, slime, and oobleck
