PATHS (Participating And Trying Hands-On Science)

Bring your elementary grade classes to campus for a round-robin of stations of hands-on science activities! Pick a topic for the whole day or several to have your students participate in an action-packed day of science.

Fee

$7/student for a 3-hour program

$5/student for a 2-hour program

Topics

  • Biology (Life, DNA, etc.)
  • Earth Science (Mining, weather, rocks and soils)
  • Chemistry (Acid/Base, Titrations, food)
  • Astronomy (Planetarium, comets, UV radiation)
  • Physics (Magnets, electricity, energy)

 

Example Schedule

9:00 Arrive on campus/Welcome/Divide into groups

Start Rotations

Group A: Mining for Chips, Room 101

Group B: Food Chemistry, Room 102

Group C: Planetarium show

Group D: Circuits, Room 103

9:45 Switch Rooms, Next Activity
10:20 Switch Rooms, Next Activity
10:55 Switch Rooms, Next Activity
11:30 Chemical Demo for Everyone
12:00 Departure
