Tobacco Free Campus

The Tobacco Free Campus Committee at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is an ad hoc, shared governance subcommittee of the Campus Health and Safety Committee. Accordingly, it is composed of students, staff and faculty (see "About Us & Contact Us" link at left).

Like its parent Committee, the TFC Committee is ADVISORY ONLY.

The TFC Committee is specifically studying whether a stricter tobacco policy at UW Oshkosh, beyond Act 12, would benefit the campus or not.  To understand the levels of policy strictness, click on "What is TobaccoFree?" at left.

The reasons for any campus’ interest in exploring a stricter tobacco policy include health and budget concerns and are detailed in “Why Go Tobacco Free?” at left.  Stricter tobacco policies are associated with "well workplace" and "sustainability" missions for the organizations that enact them.

We partner with the re:TH!NK program of Winnebago County Health. They have a program working for smokefree multiunit community housing, which is home to UW Oshkosh students and employees.

Please contact us if you would like us to bring our Open Forum presentation to your group!
