The following scholarships are available to our students:

Dr. Robert L. Snyder Scholarship

Was established in March 2008 by family, friends, colleagues and former students to honor his significant contributions to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and to the fields of radio, television and film. Dr. Robert L. “Doc” Snyder established Radio-TV-Film at UW Oshkosh and ultimately produced a nationally respected program that has graduated hundreds of students currently working in radio, television and film careers.
Award Amount (1) $500 award – payable towards following fall semester tuition

Dr. Harris N. Liechti Scholarship

Dr. Harris N. Liechti earned a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.  He was a writer/producer/director for Armed Forces Radio and Television in Hollywood and for the U.S. Office of Education in Washington, D.C.  In 1968, he joined the UW Oshkosh Radio-TV-Film faculty, teaching television production, film history, educational telecommunications, and telecommunications of the future.  He also wrote, produced, and directed educational programming, and was central in establishing the International Film Series — the University student organization that continues to be active in the 21st century.  One year after his retirement in 1990, he established this scholarship, and upon his death in 2002, he left bequest to allow the scholarship to continue to be given.
Award Amount:  (1) $500 award – payable towards following  Fall semester tuition

BEA National Scholarships

The Broadcast Education Association administers 14 scholarships annually.  These scholarship are available to our students and more information can be found on the BEA website.

Deadline for submitting all application materials for the academic year 2011-2010 is October 12, 2010

WBA Foundation Scholarships

The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation offers four scholarships - two $2,000 awards and two $1,000 awards to assist students enrolled in broadcasting-related educational programs at 4-year public or private colleges and universities. For more information please refer to the WBA Website.

Deadline for submitting all application materials is Friday, October 15, 2010 in the WBA office located in Madison, WI.

The Jack Shelley Scholarship

Northwest Broadcast News Association presents the Jack Shelley Scholarship to recognize outstanding promise in the field of broadcasting. The NBNA awards one $1,250 scholarship each year to be used for broadcast education. 

Deadline is usually the last week of February.  The application info is posted on the NBNA website early each year at www.nbna.info.

Radio Television Digital News Association

The RTDNA has several scholarships available ranging from $1,000-$10,000. You can find more information on the RTDNA website.

Deadline is usually May.
