Students at the
University of Wisconsin Oshkosh received three national first place
awards given out by the Broadcast Education Association as part of their
Festival of Media Arts. The awards for student productions will be
given out at the organization’s annual convention to be held in Las
Vegas in April.
UW Oshkosh placed
first in two of the script categories. Kayde Fisher won in the short
subject category for her script “Crimson Shadows,” which will be
produced by the UW Oshkosh Film Society in the spring. Jared A.

penned an episode called “Outbreak” for the TV series “The Office.”
In the radio play
by play category, Bryan Scholz, Tyler Thrune and Christopher Mueller

semifinal with the Titans facing UW-Eau Claire. Scholz was play-by-play
announcer for the broadcast and was an intern last summer with
WTMJ-AM/Milwaukee and the Brewers Radio Network. Thrune was color
commentator and is currently WRST’s sports director. Mueller produced
the broadcast and is currently interning with the Tampa Bay Rays
