e-Grading: Troubleshooting Guide

Accessing Grade Roster(s)

If you run into errors or problems when using Titan Web, this troubleshooting guide may help.

Below are frequently asked questions regarding Titan Web access to Grade Rosters. Click on the question to get more information:

Q: I am teaching classes this semester and have successfully logged on to Titan Web, but forgot the navigation to view my grade rosters. Can you give me directions?
A:
Once logged into Titan Web, you will be on the page pictured below. Click on Learning Management.
Instructors advisor self service
On the Learning Management page, click on the Record Grades link:

Q: When I click on the Record Grades link, I get the message, “No matching values were found”. What does this mean?
A:
There are two reasons why you might get this message: 1) You have not been entered into the PeopleSoft database as the primary (#1) instructor of the class. Contact your department university services assistant or chairperson for assistance; or 2) You are listed as the primary instructor, but have not been given the appropriate security access to grade the class. Contact the Registrar’s Office at (920) 424-0495 or email twgrades@uwosh.edu for assistance.

Q: When I select the course title of the grade roster I want to view, I get the message, “Our records indicate that there is no Grade Roster for this class. Please contact the Registrar.”
A:
Approximately one week prior to the end of a session (i.e., 7W1, 14W, 3WI) in a term (i.e., Spring 2006), instructors are given access to Grade Rosters within the Titan Web system to enter their students’ final grades. The date Grade Rosters become available on Titan Web is controlled by the Registrar’s Office. See the e-Grading Calendars for a list of dates by term/sessions when grade rosters will be available for recording grades.

Q: I am teaching classes during the first seven weeks (7W1) and three-week interim (3WI) of the semester (term). When I click on the appropriate term (i.e., Spring 2006), why do I see only my 7W1 class and not my 3WI classes?
A:
You will only see a list of classes for which you are listed in the PeopleSoft Schedule of Classes as primary instructor, with grading access approval. Try looking up your Class Rosters in the Titan Web system (Learning Management > Access Class Roster). If you can access the 3WI Class Roster, then the problem is with the grading access approval and you need to contact the Registrar’s Office (920) 424-0495 or email twgrades@uwosh.edu for assistance. However, if you cannot access your Class Roster, then you must contact your department university services assistant or chairperson for confirmation that you are listed in PeopleSoft as the primary instructor of the class(es).

Q: I am able to view one of the Grade Rosters, but am getting “stuck in a loop” when I attempt to go back to select a different Grade Roster. What am I doing wrong?
A:
For the most part, the Titan Web system is very easy to navigate. It is best to always use the navigation provided by PeopleSoft. This may be a Select a Different Class button, a Return to Instructor/Advisor Self Service button, a Cancel button, or Home. We advise that you avoid using your browser’s Back button, since results are erratic. You can use the Home button visible on every Titan Web page to return to the Instructor/Advisor Self Service main page.

Q: I am experiencing problems navigating to pages and can’t find what I want. Help!
A:
If you have tried other troubleshooting hints provided and still have problems, it may be security-related. Try using a different browser (Internet IE or Netscape) as some browsers are not supported by PeopleSoft. Clear your cache (Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files > OK). Contact the Help Line at (920) 424-3020 or email acshelp@uwosh.edu for assistance.
