To be eligible for graduation, students must meet all requirement for the degree being sought in addition to earning a minimum grade point average of 2.00 in all course required for the Interdisciplinary Studies minor. Refer to the following for complete requirements.

Recommended for students who are interested in learning more about the culture and experience of African-Americans, to be licensed to teach in this area, and/or want to use this knowledge within their majors and careers.

Note: History 201 or 202, prerequisties for History 385, will count as unit (cr.) for teaching licensure students.
  • 6 units (crs.) from the following: Music 215, 216 Religious Studies 240, 285, English 331, 376 ;
  • A maximum of 6 units (crs.) from the following: Interdisciplinary Studies 350, 446 456; Communication 425, 426;
  • A maximum of 3 units (crs.) from the following: Sociology 359; Communication 318, 347; Political Science 304, 330.
