Al Folker teaches courses in television technology and management, web design, and news workshop while supervising student-produced programs for the Oshkosh educational access channel and student internships. He has been the national recipient of both the Regional Director of the Year and the Advisor of the Year awards from the National Broadcasting Society (as well as a half dozen additional awards within the seven state Heartland Region of NBS). He has also won the Outstanding Service Award at UW Oshkosh. The owner of Creative Resource Media Publishing and Production, Al has over 35 years of experience in television and video production. Al won a Communicator Award from the National Cable Television Association and the Cameo Festival Award for Technical Achievement in Videography from the Greater Wisconsin Chapter of the International Television Association. He has been listed in Who's Who in Entertainment and has published over 150,000 copies of training videos internationally.

Advice to students: Be a generalist with knowledge and skills in many areas, and avoid specialization early on in a career in media.
