History of PA Department

The Public Administration Department at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh continues, and expands its strong commitment to academic excellence and public service that began in 1972. Over the years, it has become recognized for its Master of Public Administration (MPA) program in the state of Wisconsin, providing a top-notch training in managing public, nonprofit and health care organizations. Since 2011 the department has also offered rigorous public administration courses at the undergraduate level.
These academic programs are enhanced by a culture of learning through collaborative student and faculty research and publications, student field projects, conferences, prominent guest speakers, and study trips.
Through its collaborations with the College of Business, College of Nursing, Division of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement and other university departments, and external institutions, such as the City of Oshkosh and the Criminal Justice Executive Development Institute, the department also provides its students with various networks and opportunities for learning, practical internships and career destinations.
