MPA 721: Public Policy Analysis
This course introduces students to the study and application of public policy analysis. Students will become familiar with basic theories and techniques of policy analysis, and the practice of conducting policy analysis. Although the term policy analysis covers a wide range of activities and perspectives, its essence involves the development, design and assessment of public policies. A good policy analyst should be able to function as a generalist, thus the objective of the course is to help prepare you to offer useful advice to policymakers on a wide range of issues. Students will learn practical policy analysis skills, how to conduct policy work in a group setting, writing styles applicable to policy research and, presentation and oral communication skills.
