Admission Deadline

• All application materials for the Cognitive and Affective MS program must be postmarked by August 1st. Applications postmarked by May 1st will receive first considered for funding, which includes a stipend, health insurance, and out-of-state tuition waiver. All applications postmarked after May 1st will receive secondary funding consideration.

Application Requirements

Individuals interested in applying for University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's cognitive/affective psychology program must complete the following requirements and mail all materials to the Office of Graduate Studies.

• Complete online application for admission.

• Submit a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation from faculty, psychology faculty preferred.

• Have official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you attended sent to the address below.

• Write and submit a personal statement (two to three typed pages) describing reasons for wanting to attend UW Oshkosh and your areas of research interest. Of particular interest are details about research experience including class projects, presentations, etc.

• Submit scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  Have scores sent to UW Oshkosh (institution code: 1916).  UW Oshkosh alumni are eligible for a discount on the Kaplan GRE Test Prep.

Admission Notifications

Candidates are notified in May regarding the status of their application. Applicants admitted to the program will be sent a Letter of Admission and Admission Evaluation Summary by the Graduate Studies Office informing them of their admission status in the psychology department and the university. Full standing admission to the program requires that the prospective graduate student's application be approved by the Graduate Psychology Admissions Committee and the Director of Graduate Services. In some circumstances applicants may be admitted under probationary discretion.
