Dr. Ansfield is an Emeritus Professor of Psychology. His interest in computer technology and its application dates to his early tenure at UW Oshkosh when he developed and managed the University Statistics Laboratory and the Computer Center. For a time he was a member of the staff of the Board of Regents of State Universities, holding positions as an assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Research and Development. While there he continued to develop test evaluation and reporting software. Upon his return to UW Oshkosh he continued work in educational applications of technology as Chairperson of the Social Science Computer Based Instruction Group. He was one of the principal faculty members of the Richard W. Koehn Institute for Information and Automation Technology and continued an assignment there as a Senior Consultant for a period of 14 years until July, 1997 when the Koehn Institute's mission was completed. While there he developed training, performance support, communications, distance learning, and instructional technology applications.

Present professional, scholarly and research interests include the application of ergonomics to computer installation and utilization, system configuration, knowledge engineering, electronic publishing on the World Wide Web, performance support systems, and educational technology applied to remote delivery and management of instruction. Dr. Ansfield consults in these and related areas of applied information technology within a variety of business, scientific, and educational environments.

Dr. Ansfield enjoys sailboat racing and holds regional, national and international offices in the primary authorities that mange the sport of sailing. He and his wife are target archers and kayakers.
